There has been a big development in the West Ham managerial story today.
Claret And Hugh has revealed that the club have made contact with non other than Jürgen Klopp.
The Dortmund manager has announced that he will be leaving his present post at the end of the season and has naturally been the subject of a lot of speculation.
That speculation has connected him with the likes of Arsenal,Roma and Manchester City but today, West Ham have approached Klopp and made it clear they are interested.
Klopp himself has said he would be interested in taking on a project as his next job.
What bigger project than the Hammers’ move to the Olympic Stadium and growth from a mid-table club to European ambition?
Like Rafael Benitez, Klopp tops the polls for Hammers fans who have recently voted whom they would like as the new West Ham manager, but both of them are very optimistic targets.
The fact that contact has been made in itself shows a distinct hunger and ambition from the club and at the very least gives a glimmer of hope to supporters that they are looking in the right places when it comes to making the right choice.

Out of the big name managers out there, he seems to have the personality that might be tempted by a project like ours.
Whether you like Hugh or not, he does have contacts within the club, so even the fact we have spoKen to Klopps people is a great sign that Fatty is on his way

I just don't see Klopp as one who would fit in at a big high spending Champions league side like a Man City.
His style appears to be more building a club and having total control.
I'd love it but can't see the Daves even considering him.

Putting my optimistic head on, I'd say it depends what other offers he has.
If our owners sell us right to him he will be able to see himself here for a good 5 years building something meaningful and having owners that stick by you.
On the other hand he may look at City and although they may offer the same length contract, he knows in reality if he hasn't won a trophy in his first year then he will be under pressure.
I think on the surface we still don't have a chance if it were a straight choice, however I'm clinging on to the hope he is as he comes across and that is as not an ordinary manager that just wants to go to the richest club with the better team.
I guess we just wait and see
